Free

TV shows, and movies always try to show the character of who doesn't care about what anybody say, also, seems to not care about others. However, in fact, he is very considerate person, that cares a lot about everyone else, and everything he/she does is for the greater good after all. This character and similar ones tempt the audience to be such a character, because it is shown as hero from flesh and blood, just like everyone else. The character usually appears as being very free of what to do, strong and independent.

The problem with this is that Islam emphasized the respect of human relations, and at the same time, strengthening it. In a hadeeth, the prophet pbuh said to give people their needs before they ask for it, if you can sense that they do have some needs. Also, I'm not sure whether it is a hadeeth or a companion's phrase, that walking with muslim helping him in a need is better than staying at the masjid for the whole night. The prophet pbuh always chose his words carefully to not hurt anyone. He pbuh also said, in what means, that whoever helped someone in a trouble Allah swt helped him in the day after.

People seek to be free of what people think of them, which is a good thing. However, this shouldn't be a problem at all if someone has his intentions right. BUT, if one for example told me that I'm annoying, I wont care. Another person, then another person say the same thing, wait a minute, I might be actually annoying!! lol ...
