First day of work ...
I had many posts ideas in my mind, but I couldn't write them because I'm just stealing a wireless internet now.
So, I woke up all ready and excited for work . Got to work a little bit earlier than even the receptionist.
I took care of the papers, tour, policies, my computer and my cube. YES, I have my own cube and computer. Ok, it is kinna old, and not working properly. But I have my own place and real working station.
I like the atmoshpere. It is very flexible and comfortable, NOT like a family. Everybody out there looking at the others cubes and computers. Managers are realy nice. I asked about leaving on friday for prayer and he said: just make sure you check it as out of office on your calendar so we can't schedule a meeting with you. I asked where I can pray during the day, the lady said: just use any of the empty rooms, and you can reserve them!
I spent the day reading manuals of flight displays; how to use it? how to install it? everything about it. an engineer came and showed what I'll start on. He gave me papers about it. I can't see any connection to what I've learned in school. I'm learning a new program and a new programming language. I asked the engineer like in a 100 different way: what is this language based on? he answered for the 100 time: it is its own language. Oh well, I'll learn the freaking thing.
by the way, the place is full of MIT students or graduates. They are nothing special, except that they are full of themselves. Someone once told me; in the real world, it is more about how much can you show of what you know. It is true.
I realized after 4 hrs that this is not a new thing for me. It felt like a loooooong day in the LRC.
